Modica is also called
"lace city": richly decorated churches and palaces, "embroideries" of white stone that take on golden and coppery reflections in the light of the sunset.
The town also boasts an important tradition in chocolate making: in all the pastry shops in the center, you can taste the famous IGP Modica Chocolate, worked cold and with a typical grainy texture. To be enjoyed in specialties with chili, cinnamon, vanilla, and many others. Don't miss the cocoa liqueurs and the "impanatigghie", with unsuspected contents!
