Much loved by Archimedes, Syracuse hosts a splendid archaeological park (entrance to be paid on-site 13.50 €), where you can breathe in the Greco-Roman history of the city: the Greek theater, the Ear of Dionysius cave, with its surprising acoustic effect, artifacts and testimonies of a glorious past. Following this, transfer to Ortigia and free time for a packed lunch, with the possibility to visit the famous Ortigia market among stalls of spices, "oyster vendors" and local street food spots.
There will be a walk through the ancient core of the city, Ortigia, with its honey-colored alleys, completely surrounded by the sea and connected to the mainland by various bridges, to admire the Cathedral and the beautiful square (entrance to the cathedral 2 € optional and to be paid on-site).
