The museum is characterized by its archaeological section, which includes artifacts dating from prehistory to the Middle Ages. Among the most significant is the Heracles of Cafeo, a bronze statuette dating to the late 3rd century BC, depicting the hero after his first labor.
There are also historical collections of ancient books, Risorgimento weapons and lamps, as well as the “Quasimodo Collection” and a collection of works by local artist Enzo Assenza.
